The Dao of Change and the Times

The sixty-four hexagrams of the Book of Changes speak of change, not constancy. Many mistake the study of the Changes as a way to court fortune and avoid misfortune — its deeper concern is teaching us that change itself is the constant: only by accepting every circumstance as fluid can one stand firm amid upheaval, rather than clinging to any single gain or loss.
This autumn's seminar, led by the principal, will take "timing," "position," and "the incipient moment" as its framework — re-reading the Changes as a dynamic method of judgment for governance. To act before the time has come is rashness; to fail to respond once it has is stagnation. True wisdom lies in grasping the right measure amid change.
Open to students and outside auditors alike; seats are limited. A Q&A session will follow — bring your real governance dilemmas to discuss with the principal directly.
